Guest: Eric Foner is DeWitt Clinton Professor Emeritus of History at Columbia University.  He is the author of several books including, Free Soil, Free Labor, Free Men; The Fiery Trial: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery which won the Pulitzer; and The Second Founding : How the Civil War and Reconstruction Remade the Constitution.
