Expanding US Role in Afghanistan and The Existential Threat of Technology

In a recent New York Times article the CIA announced it’s new role in Afghanistan. President Trump has allowed special kill teams to hunt the Taliban in the region. Friday host Salima Hamirani speaks with Matthew Hoh, a senior fellow with the Center for international Policy about his controversial resignation from his position in the White House, a sign of protest against the war in Afghanistan. Later on, Author Franklin Foer speaks with Salima about World without Mind, his book on the subject of how technology alters our existence and its insidious affects on our brains, looking closely at major corporations and their un-interrogated and unchecked influence on now pervasive tools.
