Local Action and Perspectives From Washington DC

On today’s show, Cat Brooks interviews Annie Banks (the Bay Area Solidarity Action Team, a white solidarity group) and Tash Nguyen (the Ella Baker Center), two organizers who were involved in some of the actions surrounding inauguration.

Then, Mitch Jeserich brings us reporting from Washington DC. We’ll hear excerpts from a speech by Keshama Sewant (activist and member of the Socialist Alternative who sits on the Seattle City Council) from the Occupy Innauguration, a conversation with journalist, activist, author, and Presbyterian minister Chris Hedges, and an interview with Colleen Flanigan with Disability Action for America.
