Al Franken Resignation Over Sexual Harassment Allegations & Trumping Democracy

Today, Senator Al Franken of Minnesota announced his resignation “in the coming weeks” from the Senate amid accusations of sexual harassment. To talk about Senator Franken’s resignation and the implications of the culture war in our current political environment, host Mitch Jeserich talked to political analyst Adele Stan, she is a columnist with the American Prospect.

Then we feature critically selected excerpts from Thomas Huchon’s 2017 documentary film Trumping Democracy, which details the dynamics of fake news and the network of players involved in this manipulation. Over three chapters, Lies, Cover-Up, and Manipulation, this film investigates on how Trump captured the presidency and opens a debate about the American electoral system.
