Jane Elliott ‘Brown Eye/Blue Eye’

Almost 50 years ago, news of the assasination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. changed Jane Elliott’s life forever sent the educator/activist on a journey to expose, what she considers philosophical aspects of the educational system in the U.S. that promote and maintain racism in this society.

It was at that time, that she created her now famous, ‘Brown eye/Blue eye’ experience for her all White 3rd grade class in Iowa.

Tonight, Jane Elliott, in conversation with Veronica Faisant provides an update on the state of race relations, and herher beliefs that racism is learned, and it can be unlearned.
