Donald Trump blames his performance in last night’s high stakes presidential debate on a bad moderator, a bad microphone and warns he may hit Hillary Clinton harder next time. California Governor Jerry Brown signs into law a measure intended to bar the state from contracting with firms that engage in the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against Israel. Civil rights and constitutional rights groups say it violates free speech protections. Charlotte, North Carolina residents verbally lash City Council members for hours, about what they describe as unaccountable police officers and civilian leaders who have failed to force change in the week since a police officer fatally shot Keith Lamont Scott. A wildfire in the hills of Santa Cruz forces hundreds of evacuations.
