Most opioid deaths are in combination with alcohol or other drugs . This so called opioid epidemic is a ham fisted approach . Since the cdc guidelines doctors are afraid to continue prescribing opioids to patients who are in terrible pain . This drives cut off opioids pain patients into the black market to seek relief . And there is an increase in cut off opioids pain patients committing suicide for pain relief
