The Life and Times of Lucy Parsons, American Radical

On today’s show, host Mitch Jeserich is in conversation with Jacqueline Jones, expert in American social history, about her book Goddess of Anarchy: The Life and Times of Lucy Parsons, American Radical. She relates the extraordinary life of Lucy Parsons, militant, writer, orator, and agitator. From a daughter of an enslave woman growing up in Texas to a historic anarchist, her story is also an account of her times between two centuries.

Jacqueline Jones holds the Ellen C. Temple Chair in Women’s History and the Mastin Gentry White Professorship in Southern History at the University of Texas at Austin.
