Levi Distinguished Service Professor of law at the University of Chicago.  He is the author of many books in the field of constitutional law, including Perilous Times: Free Speech in Wartime (2004), War and Liberty: An American Dilemma (2007), Top Secret: When Government Keeps Us in the Dark (2007), and Sex and the Constitution (March 2017). He is also editor of the Supreme Court Review.
