The Vicious Cycle Undermining the Common Good of the US Society. Then, The Science and Spirit of the Ocean.

We are in conversation with Robert Reich about the changes occurring to the US system with Donald Trump, and how administrations before him, including Democratic ones, helped pave the way for these changes. Robert Reich is Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. He has served in three national administrations and is the author of several books, his latest is The Common Good.

About The Common Good:

In his book, Reich demonstrates the existence of a common good and argues that it is this that defines a society or a nation. Societies and nations undergo virtuous cycles that reinforce and build the common good, as well as vicious cycles that undermine it. Over the course of the past five decades, Reich contends, America has been in a slowly accelerating vicious cycle–one that can and must be reversed.
