On today’s show we first speak of the political turmoil in Venezuela with guest Miguel Tinker-Salas, Professor of Latin American history at Pomona College.  He is a leading expert on Venezuela and on political and social issues confronting Latin America. He’s author of several books including “Venezuela: What Everyone Needs to Know”. AndThe Enduring Legacy: Oil, Culture, and Society in Venezuela”.

Then Mitch Jeserich talks to Alexander Watson British historian, writer, and professor about the fall of the Habsburg Empire and how it led to World War I. He is the author of  Ring of Steel: Germany and Austria-Hungary at War, 1914-1918.
