Today we’ll present to you the Pacifica Radio Archives introduction to the Black Panthers.

Based on historic audio tapes preserved in the Pacifica Radio Archives this sixth CD set is an attempt to bring you a window to the past to the hopes the dreams the difficulties and yes the missteps of the Black Panthers. These recordings are all but a small sample of Black Panther recordings held in the Pacifica Radio Archives. We hope that the speeches interviews and events presented here will remind and inform us of those who attempted to bring about a change in our hypocritical and divided society which regrettably continues to exhibit many of the same traits today.

Next we introduce the two founders of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense…Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale and in the first part of today’s show we’ll hear from Huey P. Newton… for just last week on Feb. 17th if he been alive Huey would have celebrated his 76th birthday. So on today’s program we celebrate Huey, the Black Panthers, and Black Liberation Resistance.
