Scott Amendola, Bay Area drummer, composer, and bandleader–and a member of the Nels Cline Singers, Plays Monk, and other groups–has a new trio recording, Lift, featuring guitarist Jeff Parker (Tortoise) and bassist John Schifflet. In anticipation of his local CD release show at Yoshi’s in Oakland on Monday, Oct. 25, Scott talks with host Derk Richardson about his the new band and his new music, and plays tracks from the new album.
