Host Bonnie Bone presents the music of legendary Cuban composer, bassist and bandleader Israel "Cachao" Lopez, who passed March 22nd.

Cachao fused classical music with popular Cuban dance music, incorporated African rhythms into danzones, and other popular musical styles, is credited with creating the mambo, and was instrumental in the creation and popularization of the descarga (Cuban jam session). Cachao’s musical genius was also an early influence on R&B and rock here in the U.S.
