two distinguished and respected Indigenous women leaders, Laulani Teale from Hawai’i, and Corrina Gould from Huichin, or what is now known as the East Area, California. Both leaders share in the common struggle for Indigenous self-determination centered on protecting the Sacred. In addition, both of these leaders are at the frontlines of movements that have inspired and grown into large global movements for Indigenous self determination.
Corrina Gould is the spokesperson for the Confederated Villages of Lisjan/Ohlone, Indigenous peoples of the East Bay, California.
Laulani Teale is a Native Hawaiian musician, and a front-line ki’ai ( protector) of Hawaiian sacred sites such as, Mauna Kea.
