The Prison Strikes and the Death Penalty in California (Prop 62 and 66)

Host Cat Brooks speaks with Brooke Tepestra, an organizer with the Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC), and Pastor Kenneth Glasgow of the Ordinary People’s Society, about the state of the nationwide prison strikes, and the reality of forced prison labor in this country.

and

Host Mitch Jeserich talks with Ellen Kreitzberg, professor at Santa Clara Law School and the Director of the Death Penalty College, about Proposition 62, which would repeal the death penalty. She also comments on the differences between 62 and Proposition 66, which aims to accelerate the time between convictions and executions. Both propositions are on the ballot for California voters this November. KPFA tried several times to invite guests to represent Proposition 66, but our requests were denied.
