0:34 –November 1st, marks Day 1 of the multi-day holiday Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a Mexican cultural celebration honoring the dead.

 Itzel Diaz is one of the organizers of the Day of the Dead celebration in the Fruitvale district in Oakland, and Senior Manager of Communications and External Affairs for the Unity Council. The Unity Council is a non-profit Social Equity Development Corporation in the Fruitvale neighborhood in Oakland.
