1:08 – the death of Chinedu Okobi, an unarmed Black father suffering from a mental illness. He was tased and killed by San Mateo Sheriff’s Deputies on Oct 3, 2018. We speak with his older sister Ebele Okobi. Then, we speak with the San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe whose office is investigating the death. The San Mateo Sheriff’s Department did not reply to our interview requests before airtime.

1:34 – Since 2011, the Oakland Police Department asked applicants if they’ve been victims of sexual assault, as part of a “criminal background” check. We speak with Kimberly Veklerov (@KVeklerovwho covers the East Bay for The San Francisco Chronicle, and broke the story.
