A former NASA roboticist, he left the agency in 2006 to draw comics on the internet full time. He’s the author of the bestsellers What If? and Thing Explainer. His new book is How To: Absurd Scientific Advice for Common Real-World Problems.

He is the host of a new TV program, Savage Builds, which premiered on the Science Channel on June 14, 2019.
