Sanctuary Cities and Whiteness in America

Trump’s official platform says he wants to cut funding to Sanctuary Cities. To find out if that’s even possible, and what a sanctuary city is in the first place, we speak Laura Polstein, an immigration lawyer with Centro Legal de la Raza and Leah Price, a staff attorney with Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach.

Plus, we’re still collecting demographic data from the election but the results show that his biggest support came from Middle to Upper-class White Americans.

We talk to Jonna Ivin about the way poor white America was characterized in the election and Anna Blackshaw from Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ) about how white organizing can make a difference in the years to come.
