Mario Martinez

Mario Martinez works at the intersection of health, psychology, neurology, and culture — a field he calls biocognition. We bring you a special presentation of a KPFA talk he delivered barely a month ago — that covers everything from why some people live well in their tenth decade, and what ritual has to do with health.
  • Mario Martinez is a clinical neuropsychologist who lectures on the impact of cultural beliefs on health and longevity. His work bridges the fields of psychoneurimmunology, cultural anthropology, and cultural neuroscience. He’s based in Montevideo, Uruguay.
