0:08 – On May 11th, Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was killed while reporting on an Israeli military raid for Al Jazeera in occupied Jenin. She was wearing a vest and helmet identifying her as ‘press’ at the time when she was shot in the head. Abu Akleh was a veteran reporter who worked for Al Jazeera for 25 years, and is a household name in the region. While no witnesses have identified anyone armed at the scene other than the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), Israel’s government has said that it is impossible to determine who killed Abu Akleh’s.
