Malcolm X: The Ballot or the Bullet

Today we play clips from one of host Cat Brooks’ favorite speeches: Malcolm X’s “The Ballot or the Bullet.”  The speech was delivered in 1964 and outlines Malcolm X’s belief that to gain full equality, blacks would need to take up arms in addition to exercising their rights at the ballot box, and holds particular relevance to voter suppression tactics being used today.
