Zarate Acquittal, Gaza Strip Updates, The Weather Underground and The Honduran Election

Undocumented immigrant Jose Ines Garcia Zarate was acquitted and found not guilty in the death of Kate Steinle two years ago. Matt Gonzalez, chief attorney for the San Francisco Public Defender joins us this morning on UpFront to discuss the acquittal and its implications. Dr. Mona El-Farra, Director of Gaza Projects for the Middle East Children’s Alliance, and health chair of the Palestinian Red Crescent in the Gaza Strip. She’s visiting from Gaza and joins us in the studio to discuss the political climate in the Gaza strip. Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn of the radical left group The Weather Underground in the 1970’s join us to talk about their political legacy and their respective professorial careers. Suyapa PortilloAssistant Professor of Chicano-Latino Transnational Studies at Pitzer College, comes on air to discuss the recent elections in Honduras and the ensuing political tumult. She recently returned from Honduras as an international election observer.
