It’s been 45 years since the death of actor and martial arts icon Bruce Lee; plus: a dedication to Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin

Martial arts teacher and movie star Bruce Lee died 45 years ago on July 20, 1973, at the age of 32, one month before the release of his signature film “Enter the Dragon” released on August 19, 1973. This pop culture icon defied Asian stereotypes, broke barriers and bridged the cultures of the East and West. For the hour, we speak with Journalist Matthew Polly (@MatthewEPolly), author of “Bruce Lee, A Life.” He is also a fellow at Yale University and teaches a course on Bruce Lee.

And a brief dedication by Author Zo Williams (@ZoWilliams) to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin who died yesterday, August 16, at the age of 76.
