The UN General Assembly has just voted overwhelmingly to rebuke the US for declaring Jerusalem Israel’s capital. We’ll turn to UN expert Phyllis Bennis to make sense of the mafia style threats from Donald Trump and Nikki Haley and the subsequent vote. Then we’ll turn to Norman Solomon for a look at what the new acclaimed film The Post leaves out. Based on the Washington Post’s decision to publish the Pentagon Papers during the Vietnam war, Solomon’s review will focus on the unsaid cozy relationship between journalists and politicians. Finally author and science journalist Gary Taubes will throw a damper on our annual holiday-season sugar binge with a tale of how the sugar industry used Big Tobacco-style PR. His latest book is called The Case Against Sugar. Hosted by Sonali Kolhatkar.
