Trump to End Protected Status for Nicaraguans

Donald Trump’s administration has ended the Temporary Protected Status for Nicaraguans – a decision that impacts about 2,500 immigrants from the Central American nation that have lived in the US for decades. On today’s show we’ll speak with Amanda Baran with the Immigrant Legal Resource Center about the decision and what is in store for other TPS holders. Then, investigative journalist Sarah Macaraeg will join us to discuss her latest story about how one immigrant detention center in New Mexico is making millions off of the government’s decision to round up and detain more undocumented immigrants. Finally, the group Color of Change commissioned a report about the role of race in writers’ rooms. We’ll speak with the study’s author Darnell Hunt about his findings of white domination among Hollywood writing staffs and the impact it has on pop culture.
