After five years of promoting the “birther” lie that President Obama was not born in the U.S., Donald Trump publicly acknowledges Obama was born in this country. The U.S. warns Russia that potential military cooperation envisioned by the Syria ceasefire will not happen unless humanitarian aid begins to flow into beseiged communities. The family of a 13 year old Columbus, Ohio boy fatally shot by a police officer calls for an independent probe. Family members say numerous witness accounts are in direct conflict with the officer’s version of events. Governor Jerry Brown signs into law two measures protecting the rights of nail salon workers and janitors. It’s the latest in a string of advances for workers in fields dominated by immigrants.
