The toll of those confirmed death in Haiti  from Hurricane Matthew takes a big leap, to more than 800, as aid agencies begin to make their way into the communities hardest hit by the cyclone. President Obama warns of storm surges that could endanger communities as the hurricane makes its way up the coast of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos is the surprise winner of  the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize for his attempt to negotiate an end to the country’s 50 year long war with the FARC rebels.  A surprise announcement from the Family members of Luis Gongora announce a civil lawsuit against San Francisco and the police officers who fatally shot him six months ago.
