Donald Trump taps Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions as his Attorney General. Thirty years ago Sessions failed Senate confirmation as a federal judge because of racist comments he  made as U.S. Attorney in Alabama. Other Trump nominations: Kansas right wing Republican Mike Pompeo to head the C.I.A. and former intelligence chief Michael Flynn as National Security Advisor. Attorney General Loretta Lynch releases what she calls alarming statistics on the rise of hate crimes. San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon says his office will combat the rise in racist and anti-immigrant incidents since the election of Donald Trump. A new report documents the 61 million dollars spent by Chevron to elect state and local officials friendly to the oil giant.
