House Republicans unveil their proposal to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act with Democrats vowing a fight and some conservatives complaining the plan amounts to “Obamacare Lite”.  On “Resistance Tuesday”, Bay Area activists march in Oakland to oppose Donald Trump’s promotion of the oil industry and coal.  Mayor Ed Lee agrees to fund four new positions in the Public Defenders office to defend undocumented immigrants facing deportation. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson refers to slaves as “immigrants” in his first remarks, prompting outrage and derision.
