FBI Director James Comey  publicly  confirmd for the first time that the FBI is investigating Russia’s alleged efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, including any potential coordination between Trump campaign associates and the Russian government. The Senate Judiciary Committee opens hearings into Donald Trump’s nomination of Neil Gorsuch to fill the seat left vacant on the U.S. Supreme Court when Antonin Scalia died eleven months ago and Republicans refused to consider President Obama’s pick. Juvenile justice reform on the agenda at the State Capitol as two lawmakers introduce  legislation to keep young children out of the juvenile justice system.  San Francisco Assemblymember Phil Ting joins with other Democrats to introduce legislation that would force the nation’s two largest pension systems, CalPERS and CalSTRS to divest from companies that build Donald Trump’s border wall with Mexico.
