U.C. Berkeley students stage a vigil to remember the dead. A memorial grows in San Francisco’s Castro District.

Remembering another massacre: Also in Orlando, a former Chilean army officer faces a civil trial in the torture and death of Chilean social icon and folksinger Victor Jara in the days after the U.S.-backed coup on September 11, 1973.
