Nissan workers at the company’s Canton, Mississippi plant begin voting on whether to make the factory the first in the south to unionize.  Interpreters at the Contra Costa courthouse in Martinez stage the latest in a series of Bay Area informational pickets by interpreters who could go on strike over a stalled contract. The cities of Stockton and San Bernardino are among four targeted by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who says he’ll kick them out of a program to combat violence and drug dealing unless they fully cooperate with federal immigration agents.
