Nissan workers at the company’s Canton, Mississippi plant begin voting on whether to make the factory the first in the south to unionize. ¬†Interpreters at the Contra Costa courthouse in Martinez stage the latest in a series of Bay Area informational pickets by interpreters who could go on strike over a stalled contract. The cities of Stockton and San Bernardino are among four targeted by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who says he’ll kick them out of a program to combat violence and drug dealing unless they fully cooperate with federal immigration agents.
