The U.S. returns to war making in Libya, attacking Islamic State positions in Sirte, with the agreement of the U.N. backed government. Growing criticism of Donald Trump for his disparagement of the parents of a Moslem Army Captain who died in Iraq in 2004. Trump says he was viciously attacked by the parents at the Democratic National Convention. The California Assembly declares Muslim Awareness and Appreciation Month, a development welcomed by CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee signs the new budget into law and a West Oakland recycling center may be forced to move.
