Sir George Martin, best known as The Beatles’ producer, died this week at the age of 90. Host Derk Richardson plays a long set of Beatles music, most of it in the experimental-psychedelic vein, that demonstrates Martin’s innovative and impeccable studio touch, which was indispensable to John, Paul, George, and Ringo’s sound. In the second hour, several pieces by the beloved and creative Brazilian percussionist and berimbau player Naná Vasconcelos, who died on March 9th at the age of 71.
