The first hour, co-hosted by Betty Beasley, was given mostly to music featured as thank-you premiums for the KPFA Holiday Fund Drive: selections from Vol. 12 of the Bob Dylan Bootleg Series, “The Cutting Edge,” and Laurie Anderson’s “Heart of a Dog.” Plus, a bit of Frank for Sinatra’s centennial. In the second hour, Dan Plonsey and Michael Zelner talked about and played music by New Zombies, which plays the avant-Afrobeat music from Plonsey’s wide-ranging catalog of original music. And more Laurie Anderson and a closing dollop of Frank.
