On today’s Talkies. Guest host Max Pringle speaks with San Francisco Silent Film Festival Artistic Director Anita Monga about the 24th annual Silent Film Festival. It’s slated for May 1-5 at the historic Castro Theater. Films not shown in decades, which have been newly restored, will be shown. Some of the films feature the work of such cinema legends as Buster Keaton, John Ford and Gary Cooper.
Also, in the second half of the show, the co-founder of a Berkeley-based company that provides nearly indestructible footballs for kids living in harsh terrain in the developing world will talk about her organization and its mission. The One World Play Project’s Lisa Tarver will be in conversation with Max Pringle.
