Supreme Court Hears Arguments on Whether Immigrants Have Due Process Rights

On today’s show we’ll examine two crucial cases being taken up by the US Supreme Court. On Tuesday justices heard arguments in a case about the length of immigrant detentions. My guest Michael Kaufman is Senior Staff Attorney with the ACLU who has worked on the case. Then, we’ll turn to author David Daley about another case before the court – on gerrymandering. David will share with us his thoughts on why the issue of highly partisan redistricting is so important and what a Supreme Court decision could mean. Finally, as we live in increasingly uncertain times, with hurricanes, earthquakes, and climate-related disasters looming, we’ll turn to Matthew Stein author of When Disaster Strikes: A Comprehensive Guide for Emergency Planning and Crisis Survival. Hosted by Sonali Kolhatkar.
