Special Broadcast: Senate Judiciary Committee’s confirmation hearing of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court

Wednesday Sep 5 is Day 2 of our Special Broadcast of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Confirmation Hearing of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
During the the mid-day break, we dive into analysis of the hearing with special guests. First, Nancy Northup, President and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights on repercussions for women’s rights and reproductive justice. Then, Rachel Carmona, Chief Operating Officer with the Women’s March joins us from the hearing to discuss the protests. Seventy protesters were arrested on the first day of the hearing, and dozens more on the second day. Activists are denouncing Kavanaugh’s nomination as a giant setback for women, LGBTQ communities, the environment, and separation of powers.
Then, we discuss the constitutionality of the process with Aaron Tang, acting professor of law at the University of California Davis School of Law. He teaches constitutional law and was a former law clerk to Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
