Texas Anti-Immigrant Law Halted While Harvey Continues Assault

Senate Bill 4 the Texas anti-immigrant law, has been blocked by a federal judge offering temporary relief to undocumented communities in the hurricane-impacted state. On today’s show we’ll turn to Julieta Garibay of United We Dream to explore how immigrant communities struggled through Harvey and what political challenges they face from anti-immigrant forces. Then environment reporter Alexander Kaufman will join us to continue our Hurricane coverage with a look at how Donald Trump’s climate-change denying policies will make more Harveys likely. Finally we’ll turn to professor Henry Giroux to discuss his new book, The Public in Peril: Trump and the Menace of American Authoritarianism. Hosted by Sonali Kolhatkar.
