Chinese Dissident Artist’s New Film Exposes Refugee Crisis

Activists with Black Lives Matter in Los Angeles are confronting LA County DA Jackie Lacey over why she has refused to charge a single police officer during her tenure. LA County leads the country on police killings. On today’s show we’ll speak with Prof. Melina Abdullah with BLM LA about it. Then, a new study of Wisconsin’s registered voters, who were unable to vote last November has concluded that the state’s voter ID law deeply impacted people’s voting rights. Analiese Eicher with the group One Wisconsin Now will discuss the implications of the study. Finally, I’ll have an in-person conversation with the internationally renowned Chinese dissident artist and activist Ai Weiwei and his ambitious and powerful new documentary Human Flow, which covers the global refugee crisis.
