Activists Push Democrats to Filibuster Gorsuch

Progressive activists nationwide are pressuring Senate Democrats to hold firm against the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court. On today’s show we’ll speak with Demand Progress’ Carli Stevenson about how people can get involved. And, immigrant workers at Tom Cat Bakery in Long Island, New York, are resisting an effort by Homeland Security and their employer to produce papers or be fired. Manuel Lema is one of dozens of workers who have decided to organize and resist. We’ll speak with Lema alongside Diana Marino of the non-profit group Brandworkers which is helping the immigrant workers. Plus, Lynn K. Hall, a crisis counselor and rape survivor joins us to discuss her new book, Caged Eyes: An Air Force Cadet’s Story of Rape and Resilience. It’s the first full-length memoir account of rape in the US Military.
