Activists who documented labor violations at a Chinese factory producing Ivanka Trump shoes have disappeared. The activists are with the group China Labor Watch and on today’s show we’ll speak with Manfred Elfstrom about it. And, we’ll hear part 1 of a 2 part conversation with author Gordon Lafer on his book, The One Percent Solution: How Corporations Are Remaking America One State at a Time. Finally, Dalit American activist Thenmozhi Soundararajan joins us to explain why she and others are urging progressives to not embrace Hawaii Democratic representative Tulsi Gabbard into our movements. Soundararajan will discuss Gabbard’s islamophobia, homophobia, war hawishness, and allegiance to Hindu fundamenalist political groups ought to be deal breakers.
