Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy has announced his retirement, causing a political frenzy among Republicans to replace him with a staunch right wing extremist, and some Democrats determined to stop a new Trump nominee. On our show today Constitutional expert, author, and academic Corey Brettschneider will join us to examine Kennedy’s legacy on the court, and whether the Democrats have any options to stop Trump from replacing him. Then, after the stunning primary election defeat of Joe Crowley by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, we’ll turn to Rene Paradis, a leader in the DSA to discuss the group, how it is growing by leaps and bounds, and what its political strategy is.
