As the GOP’s dream of repealing the Affordable Care Act is once more deferred with the latest defection of two Republican Senators, we’ll turn today to a new study by the Commonwealth Fund that helps us put US healthcare into an international perspective. My guest will be Eric Schneider, lead author of the study. Then, the OECD issued a new report claiming “massive progress” on offshore tax havens. George Turner, a researcher with the UK-based Tax Justice Network will explain why the report falls far short. Finally, author and activist Andy Fisher will explain what the “hunger-industrial complex is,” and how today’s food banks and other food charity programs are dominated by corporate executives who would rather not address the root causes of hunger.
