Nineteen years after the massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado, students around the country are walking out of their schools calling for stricter gun control. On our show today we’ll speak with youth organizer Quazi Jahaiara who is participating in one of the walkouts in the Los Angeles area and how students of color are disproportionately impacted. Then, as NAFTA negotiations speed ahead a new report by a number of organizations is warning that the new version of the trade deal will lock in decades of fossil fuel extraction and consumption. Ben Beachy of the Sierra Club will join me to explain more. Finally, we’ll go to British Columbia, Canada, to hear from the spokesperson of Protect the Inlet, a broad coalition of indigenous and environmental activists that have been holding the line against the Kinder Morgan pipeline project. My guest Will George is a member of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation and has been on the forefront of what many are calling Canada’s Standing Rock.
