Can Facebook Really Regulate Itself?

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has faced two days of questioning by Congressional lawmakers about controversies that include data security and privacy, fake news, and the ability to influence politics. On our show today we’ll take an in-depth look at what the issues are, whether Zuckerberg adequately addressed them, and if the social media behemoth can be trusted to regulate itself. Then, after days of vilifying the refugees and migrants that were headed to the US from Central America, President Trump has declared victory in stopping the caravan. Martin Pineda with the Central American Resource Center will explain who the migrants are and what will happen to them. Finally, Michael Idov, award-winning journalist and author joins us to discuss his memoir based on three years in Russia called Dressed Up for a Riot: Misadventures in Putin’s Moscow.
