Rising Up With Sonali

Rising Up With Sonali – April 10, 2017

As Donald Trump proposes decimating funding for PBS, we’ll feature three documentaries on our show today, that you can watch on PBS. First, a film about President Obama’s drone wars called National Bird: filmmaker Sonia Kennebeck will discuss the important testimonies of drone operators who have decided to become whistleblowers. Then, 4 years after the horrific mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, we’ll turn to award winning filmmaker Kim Snyder to discuss her film called simply Newtown. Finally, we’ll end on a note of hope with the film Seed: An Untold Story. Co-directors Taggart Siegel and Jon Betz will join us to discuss their visually stunning tale about plant biodiversity and our food heritage.┬áHosted by Sonali Kolhatkar.
