Anoush Ter Taulian is a multimedia activist involved in the Armenian freedom struggle and an advocate for the liberation of women. An unwanted daughter, who became politically conscious in Berkeley in the 1970s, she’s dedicated her life to resisting assimilation, and raising awareness of the ongoing genocide against indigenous Armenians. In “Liars Drive Me Crazy,” she reads her original poetry inhabiting the soul of a displaced Armenian Genocide refugee, and explores themes of incest, multicultural solidarity with other indigenous people facing threats to their existence, and the connection between male wars and a fear of women’s sexuality.
